What a Great Idea!
Thanks to my Facebook friend, Christine Norris at Landlord Tips, I have found out about a great site and an interesting Facebook Event called Random Acts of Kindness. This got me thinking, what can we do to show our employees some “Random Acts of Kindness? So I’ve come up with a list of things you can do, that is simple and won’t take too much time (since this is a little short notice).
- Create some ‘coupons’ for your employees and leave them at their work stations/desk, etc. These coupons can be for things such as: leaving one hour early or coming in one hour late, Taking a personal day that won’t count against their vacation/sick time. Taking 15-30 minutes longer lunch, etc.
- If your employee loves a certain kind of soda, why not buy them a bottle or even enough for the week.
- Have pizza brought in for lunch for everyone
- Bring in donuts and o.j.
- Take your staff out to lunch, at a sit down restaurant and let them relax and take their time
- Buy your employees a lottery ticket, like a scratch off and leave it for them
- Write them a note that tells them how much you appreciate them
- Give them a gift card to somewhere they would love. It doesn’t have to be a large amount, any amount will help and be appreciated.
- Give them some little gifts, things like: hand lotion, coffee mug, their favorite candy, small picture frames, chapstick, candles, etc.
- Everyone has stress these days, so why not give them a stress ball.
Simple little things that will mean a lot to your employees. And you don’t have to do them all this week – save them and do them throughout the year.
