Change is Coming. Are Your Ready?
There are some people who welcome change and some who wishes the word “change” would disappear from this world. Which are you? Your answer could determine what kind of boss you will be…Things change on a daily basis and in some companies on an hourly basis, so you have to be a boss that can go with the flow and change when change happens.
If your company decides to change a policy that has been in play for years, your employees aren’t going to be happy, and if you can’t deal with change, this is going to make for a difficult situation.
You need to be positive about change and help your employees understand that this is a good thing and figure out a way to show them it really is going to be…
Be there to answer their questions and help them understand the change. This means you have to understand the change yourself, so learn all you can about the change as soon as possible so that you will be ready for their questions and so you can stay positive in the face of their concerns, and confusion…
Change happens…how you deal with it will determine how well your employees deal with it…
That means employees need the information, but also some time to work it through. They need to be able to ask questions. “So if you’re going to welcome change and lead change and help people change over time as part of being a good boss, you’ve got to allow time. It can’t be done in a crisis.”
